WOOSTER – A Dalton man was killed Friday after a tractor crash in Wayne County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The patrol was called to South Mt. Eaton Rd. (SR 94) South of Goudy Rd. (TR 334), south of Dalton, in Wayne County at 2:32 p.m.
Daniel L. Swartzentruber, 46, of 250 North West Lebanon Rd., Dalton Ohio, was south on Mt. Eaton Rd., on a 2017, Massey Ferguson 1736 tractor, pulling a loaded trailer. The trailer began to sway causing the tractor to overturn, ejecting Swartzentruber. He died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
The patrol reported Swarzentruber’s tractor was equipped with a roll bar and a seatbelt but he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Luke Reynolds, Wayne County Coroner’s assistant was on scene. In addition, East Wayne Fire and EMS, Travis Hutchison, Wayne County Sheriff, and officers from the Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were on scene.
This crash remains under investigation.
