ASHLAND — The Ohio Department of Transportation has issued its District 3 construction report for the Week of April 30.

As a result, Ashland County drivers should use caution on these roads:

State Route 39

SR 39, east of Wally Road over Black Fork of the Mohican River, will have signalized, single-lane closures to maintain traffic for a bridge replacement. Phase 2 of the project will begin to shift traffic so that work can continue on the eastbound side of the structure. Traffic should be completely shifted over by Tuesday, May 1; however, all work is weather dependent and is subject to change. The project is expected to be complete June 2018.

US 30

US 30, from SR 511 to SR 60, will have single-lane closures as crews begin pavement repairs. The project will utilize speed limit signs to reduce the speed and maintain the flow of traffic. The reduced speed limit when workers are present will be 50 mph; the posted speed limit when crews are NOT working will be 60 mph. The project is expected to be complete July 2018.

Interstate 71

I-71, from US 250 to the Wayne County line, will have intermittent single lane closures as crews begin work as part of a resurfacing project. Nightly pavement repairs will take place from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Double lane closures at night have gone into effect leaving one lane of traffic open in both directions. The project will utilize digital speed limit signs to maintain traffic flow. The posted speed limit when crews are NOT working will be 65 mph; the reduced speed limit when workers are present will be 55 mph. The project is expected to be complete August 2018.

Goon Road (CR 3006)

Goon Rd., in the Mohican State Park leading up to the Mohican Lodge, will have intermittent closures starting Monday, April 9 for resurfacing and culvert work. Detours will be posted on State Park Roads. The project is expected to be complete August 2018.
