MANSFIELD, Ohio- Authorites have identified a deceased white male found in the Manfield Liederkranz parking lot Monday as 36-year-old Mansfield resident Craig Holmes.

Holmes was found in a parked Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in the Mansfield Liederkranz parking lot at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday.

“Somebody here at the Liederkranz must have observed a pick-up truck in their parking lot that had been here for a little while,” said Richland County Coroner’s Investigator Bob Ball.

The Mansfield police and fire departments were called to the scene. At the scene, they found that the white male was deceased, said Ball. Ball said there was no identification on the body, but a family member contacted authorities and identified the body as Holmes.

Ball did not observe any type of foul play that could have contributed to the death.

“Honestly, it looks like a natural death,” Ball speculated.

The body will be sent to Summit County for an autopsy, he said. Ball said it will be at least 10 weeks before results return from Summit County.
