MANSFIELD — Approximately 100 homes on the east side of Mansfield are experiencing phone and internet outages from the snow storm that walloped Richland County in early February.
Richland Source reached out to Lumen, CenturyLink’s parent company, after a Mansfield resident contacted our newsroom last week.
Stephanie Meisse of Lumen confirmed the outage.
“Lumen has a damaged and wet cable near East 1st Street caused by the snow storm two weeks ago,” Meisse wrote in an email to Richland Source on Feb. 21.
“Lumen technicians have been working at the site and were able to restore services to some homes.”
However, Meisse noted that due to the level of damage caused by water in the manhole, it will likely take several more days to restore all impacted phone and internet services.
“We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” she wrote.
