School Activities: Growing up I loved to be involved in what was going on around my school. You can consider me a social butterfly. I was so thrilled that Ontario High School had many organizations and groups | got to be a part of. Including Student council (4 years- 3 of them being secretary), Leadership Committee (4 years), National Honors Society (junior and senior year), Office Worker (junior and senior year), Drug Free Seniors Program, Buddy Mentorship Program (sophomore and junior year), Marching Band (flag line-junior year), and Show Choir (4 years-2 years being librarian, 1 year being secretary, and my senior year I was elected to lead the show choir as president).
Awards: The National School Choral Award 2020-21. This is the highest honor for high school choral performers.
Other Information: While I enjoy spending time within my extracurricular activities, I think it is just as important to serve and be a light in the community. I would consider myself to be an active participant at Berean Baptist Church as I am on the adult worship band, serve in mission trips, and lead the youth on Wednesday nights for worship. I have worked at Ontario’s Summer Rec for four years now, specifically in the dance group, which has been a blast! Aside from performing in many productions at the Mansfield Playhouse and Renaissance, i contribute my time and energy to productions and programs I may not be performing in. For example, I have been a part of a group of local students that helped at “Broadway Camp,” an experience to get kids familiarized and involved with performing arts through singing and dancing. One of my bigger volunteer experiences at the Renaissance consisted of touring “Polkadots: the Cool Kid Musical” around local schools in Ohio. This show’s message shined a spotlight on inclusion and self confidence. I am thankful for all of these opportunities since it gave me a chance to encourage kids and show them that kindness is still such an important trait to exhibit today.
Future Plans: I plan to commute to Ashland University where I will study for my Bachelor’s in the Primary Grades/Intervention Specialist Dual Program (PreK-5).
