The National Weather Service office in Cleveland delivers more bad news these days than a metro traffic helicopter during Friday afternoon rush hour.
In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s raining again. A lot. And it may get worse.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
So the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until Thursday at 8 p.m. for north central Ohio, including Richland, Ashland and Knox counties.
Storms could be accompanied by heavy rain (duh!), hail and high winds, in addition to powerful lightning.
Be careful if you’re driving as local roads are experiencing high water in many places as storm drains are overtaxed. There may be local stream flooding, as well.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight, mainly before 11 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy after that with a low around 66.
Expect more of the same on Friday, mainly after noon. The NWS said the chance of precipitation is only 40 percent Friday afternoon and night.
The sun is going to shine this weekend with highs in the 70s and perhaps as high as 80. Or so we are told.
Best bet? Take a rain coat, an umbrella, a snow shovel and a canoe. Be prepared. It’s Ohio.
