MANSFIELD — The City of Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department, Mansfield Art Center, Mansfield Richland County Public Library and Richland County Children Services are partnering to offer a socially distant summer program for children.

The program includes a free daily lunch from the Cleveland Food Bank.

Students can come to North Lake Park at 236 Hope Road from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. from June 1 to Aug. 7 to receive a free lunch and an activity from one of the partners that can be done at home.

Parents are encouraged to drive up and receive the lunch and activity. Those who walk will also be served. Social distancing standards will be enforced and no congregating groups will be allowed at the park.

The City of Mansfield’s park pavilions will not open this summer.

“Due to the unknown factors of COVID-19, practicing social distancing and the health and safety of our community, we are unable to open the pavilions and take reservations. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to have a safe season next year. Any questions can be directed to the City of Mansfield’s Parks department at 419-522-9801,” the city said in a press release.
