The fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is gaining momentum thanks to the ALS Association’s Ice Bucket Challenge. As of August 19, 2014, the challenge had raised $22.9 million.

We at Richland Source have completed the challenge on Aug. 19 and now we invite you to share your Ice Bucket Challenge photos and a link to your YouTube video with us via Facebook, Twitter or through the news submission page site.

We will collect the videos in a gallery collection that will remain on our site through Sep. 1.

The Challenge

During the Ice Bucket Challenge, participants douse themselves with a bucket of ice water, then challenge others to do the same or make a donation to the ALS Association. Many participants choose to make a donation as well as get cold and wet, all for a good cause.

ALS, often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The Ice Bucket Challenge has helped raise awareness of ALS.

The ALS Association’s mission includes providing care services to assist people with ALS and their families as well as a global research program focused on the discovery of treatments and eventually a cure for the disease.

  1. My first symptoms of ALS occurred in 2014, but were diagnosed in 2016. I had severe symptoms ranging from shortness of breath, balance problems, couldn’t walk without a walker or a power chair, i had difficulty swallowing and fatigue. I was given medications which helped but only for a short burst of time, then I decided to try alternative measures and began on ALS Formula treatment from Tree of Life Health clinic. It has made a tremendous difference for me (Visit w w w. healthcareherbalcentre .com I had improved walking balance, increased appetite, muscle strength, improved eyesight and others. ]
