It’s like one big multi-class reunion. That’s exactly how organizer Nathan Roston describes the annualĀ Galion Alumni Basketball Tournament.
The 5 on 5, double elimination, full court basketball tournament is set to take place on June 7 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The cost to enter is $20.
The preceding evening of June 6 will feature a shoot around from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Both events take place in Galion High School’s gymnasium.
The early list of participants on the group’s Facebook page had participants from a wide range of years and, as is the case in many alumni tournaments, a little friendly competition. That’s exactly what Roston hopes to continueĀ
“When I first started it was all about trying to beat your idols,” said Roston of his earliest memories of trying to beat older alumni members in the tournament. He added that he hopes the tradition of friendly competition and camaraderie carries on in this year’s installment.
