The Mansfield Police Department responded to a call Wednesday evening to 191 N. Benton Street, Mansfield, at approximately 5:14 p.m. According to the police report, Sarah Crawford reported that her husband had been shot. Police found that Paul Crawford, 38, of Mansfield, sustained three gunshot wounds as a result of a drive-by shooting.
A Mansfield Fire Department squad transported Crawford to MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital, and he was subsequently flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was recently listed in serious condition. Crawford and his wife Sarah live at 187 N. Benton Street.
The shooting appeared to have resulted from a dispute with the suspect. Sarah Crawford told police that the suspect fired from a red four-door Saturn vehicle with a black automatic handgun. The suspect then fled the area in an unknown direction. The suspect was described as a black male, 25-36 years old, weighing 190-220.
