Every mid-July, North Central State College’s Rock-n-Ribs brings a three day festival of music, food, and fun to the campus. Performances by national music acts, and a rib cook-off with competitors from all over the country bring back fans and anticipation every year.
Rock-n-Ribs takes place this year July 11- 13. This year the music line-up includes on July 11, Firehouse on July 12, Here Come the Mummies, and on July 13 The Ohio Express, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
Rock-n-Ribs welcomes the young, the old and everyone in between. It is a great chance to change up the weekend routine with friends or family. Whether attendees come for the food, the music or both, everyone will leave with fun memories to take with them.
Doors open at 5 p.m. each night and tickets are $5 all night Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before 7 p.m. Prices are $10 after 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased in advance for $5 from Richland Bank and Mechanics Savings Bank branches in Richland County and United Bank locations in Crawford County.
The good times at the event fund scholarships to current and prospective students of the local college. Additionaly, monies raised help expand the faculties of the college and funds programming to help develop mid-Ohio’s future workforce.
If someone wants to do more than just attend Rock-n-ribs, volunteers are also sought out each year to help run the event; interested participants can fill out a volunteer form.
