MANSFIELD — St. Peter’s High School will honor members of the 1968 and 1978 State Championship teams on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Franciscan Activity Center.

The ceremony will take place during halftime of the St. Peter’s varsity game vs. Cleveland Lincoln West.

Members of both title teams along with coaching staffs and cheerleaders have been invited to return to attend the event. Also, a historical display will be set up in the Franciscan Activity Center including the state championship trophies, game balls and old photos and newspaper photos.

“It’s a great honor to have so many players return for this anniversary,” said Spartans coach Joe Jakubick. “It’s a great opportunity for our current players to meet the guys who built the legacy of Spartan basketball.”

It is also Homecoming weekend at St. Peter’s High School, and the 59th Homecoming Queen will be crowned between the junior varsity and varsity games. A small reception for the teams will be hosted after the event in the Franciscan Activity Center Atrium.

The evening tips off with the JV contest starting at 6 p.m. The Spartans are undefeated this season with a record of 11-0.

Tickets are $7 for reserved seating $6 for general admission and $4 for students and seniors. Advanced tickets can be purchased at athletics.mansfieldstpeters.org.
