MANSFIELD – Mnatsakan Ghazaryan, 58, of N. Hollywood California, died from injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle crash Monday at 12:44 p.m., on Interstate 71 southbound near mile post # 171 in Richland County according to the Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The patrol reported that a 2018 Honda Civic, driven by 21-year-old Gabriel A. Binkley, of Katy, Texas, was traveling southbound on Interstate 71 in the left lane passing a commercial vehicle in the center lane driven by Ghazaryan.
Binkley lost control of his vehicle and traveled into the center lane striking the commercial vehicle in the left side. The commercial vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guard rail before traveling down an embankment and overturning, the patrol reported.
The crash remains under investigation.
Washington and Mifflin Township EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation and the Richland County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene.
