WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-Cavaliers) and Kamala Harris (D-Warriors) made a bet on the outcome of the 2017 NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors.
The NBA Finals series begins on Thursday night in Oakland.
If the Warriors win, Senator Brown will bring beer from the Platform Brewing Company to Harris’ office. If the Cavaliers prevail, Senator Harris will deliver beer from Anchor Brewing to Senator Brown’s office. This is the third year the Cavs and the Warriors will meet again in the finals.
“As a lifelong Cleveland sports fan, I’m looking forward to seeing King James and the Cavs settle the score once and for all,” said Brown. “The defending champs are a lock to Defend the Land.”
“I know the Bay Area is ready to settle the score in this rematch,” said Harris. “I have full faith that Dub Nation will be celebrating a win.”
Brown and Harris made the bet over Twitter. This is the third year in a row Senators from Ohio and California have bet on the NBA finals. Last year, former Senator Barbara Boxer of California delivered beer to Brown after the Cavs won the series.
