LUCAS — North central Ohio’s longest active playoff streak is in jeopardy.
Lucas was in 13th in Region 27 of Division VII when the Ohio High School Athletic Association released its penultimate regional computer ratings Tuesday.
The top 12 teams in each region qualify for the postseason. The OHSAA will release its final computer ratings and first-round playoff pairings Sunday.
The Cubs (4-5) have qualified for the postseason 12 straight seasons. A win at Wynford (3-6) would all but guarantee a playoff berth.
Division III
Madison kept alive its slim playoff hopes with last week’s 20-14 overtime win at Lexington.
The Rams (4-5) are 14th in Region 10 of Division III.
Madison hosts crosstown rival Mansfield Senior (1-8) on Friday. The Rams need a win and some help to make the playoffs for the seventh time in program history and first since 2020.
Ontario (8-1) already locked up a playoff bid in that same Region 10 ahead of Friday’s regular season finale against River Valley (0-9). The Warriors will likely get a first-round bye.
Division IV
Both Shelby (9-0) and Clear Fork (7-2) are locks in Region 14 of Division IV.
The Whippets, who host Marion Harding (5-4), already have secured a first-round bye. The Colts would likely also get a bye with a win over Galion (5-4).
Division V
A Galion win over Clear Fork would send the Tigers to the postseason for an eighth straight year.
Galion is 14th in Regon 18 of Division V.

Playoff Qualifiers Reduced to 12 Per Region
