White envelopes with purple type

Dear Lexington Community,

Our schools need your help!

My name is Patrick Cannon and this is my 32nd year as the PE teacher at Eastern Elementary. I have also had the privilege to serve as a coach for many activities and most recently serve as the Lexington Teachers Association President.

My wife and I have two children, Wilson and Zoe, who both attended and graduated from the  Lexington Local Schools.

Every day, our teachers walk into the classroom with the dedicated goal of giving our students the best possible education. Recent reductions in state funding has resulted in our district confronting a very serious financial crisis and jeopardizes the fulfillment of this goal.

The levies on the November ballot are critical investments that directly impact our classrooms and schools.

Passage of the levies ensures that we can maintain reasonable class sizes, protect course options, maintain extracurricular activities that help every Lexington student succeed and provide a first class education for Lexington students.

Strong schools build strong communities, protects home values and prepares the next generation of workers, parents and leaders. When you invest in our schools, you are investing in the very heart of the Lexington community, your community.

When voters support our schools, our students win. On behalf of our educators, counselors and support staff, please show your support for Lexington schools, present and future students and your community by voting YES for the school levies this November.

Sincerely,

Patrick Cannon
