I am blessed to have been raised in this community my entire growing up years. I was a Lexington student for all 13 years, and I am a proud ‘87 Lex graduate!

My sense of pride comes from the memories I share with my friends that were made possible by the incredible, professional educators and staff who taught and/or mentored me along the way.

It was also the bus drivers, janitors, secretaries, cooks, aides, administrators, and the coaches who made me feel special. Many of them have become life-long friends. I can’t put a value on the relationships that have been built, how grateful I am to all of them for the impact they’ve made on my life, and what they continue to mean to me!

I can look back with the fondest of memories because of these people, and as an adult, I now understand how it took a strong community supporting us in every facet of our public education system.

After college, I chose to return to “The Village” to begin my adult life. My wife, Teresa, and I chose to have our three children educated here, knowing the quality education that they would receive.

We could have found less expensive land with lower taxes elsewhere, but we have built two homes in the district because of the quality educational opportunities we knew our kids would receive.

I have been privileged to serve as a Lex educator for the past 22 years and coached 21 seasons of athletics during that time.

“Together, We Are Lex” is a slogan that was adopted by our district leadership to begin the new 2026-27 school year. It has been a refreshing year of optimism for the future of our schools moving forward.

We have always had a rich tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts. Walk the halls of our new building and you can see it. Talk to anyone who has been a part of it and they will tell you.

With a new elementary building being built and scheduled to open for our students in less than two years, it’s even more essential for us to continue to support not only the buildings that we’ve voted to construct through totally separate, previously approved funds, but the students who will fill those classrooms.

Legendary Coach Woody Hayes said, “You win with people.” This is true in any organization.

However, we’re not talking about just an organization. We’re talking about the very heart and the future of our community — our Lexington School District and the children it serves.

Please take time to educate yourself and others on the facts of each levy, and join me in VOTING YES for BOTH LEVIES when we have the opportunity, Tues., Nov. 3.

On behalf of everyone who has a stake in the game and has made an investment in our young people, directly or indirectly, I thank you in advance for your strong and thoughtful consideration in doing so!
