Robert “Bob” Alan Wakeley, a lifelong resident of Mansfield area, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Bob was born on January 19, 1943, to the late John and Winifred (Kanable) Wakeley. He was a proud graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, Class of 1961. From 1966 to 1968, Bob served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer.

Bob retired after more than 50 years working in sales at WESCO. Bob was incredibly outgoing, with an easygoing personality. He especially enjoyed all of his friend groups, whether it was golfing, playing poker, or just meeting for breakfast each week.

A lifelong fan of rock and roll music from the 1950s, Bob carried that love of music throughout his life. But above all his interests and accomplishments, his greatest pride was his family. He was immensely proud of his two children, who he often said made his life complete. His grandchildren and great grandchildren held an especially treasured place in his heart.

During the final year of his life, Bob made his home at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Galion. The relationships he formed there and the exceptional care he received made a tremendous difference in his final year. He was surrounded by people who cared for him, supported him, and became an important part of his life.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marsha Wakeley; son, Matt (Becky) Wakeley; daughter, Nicole Wakeley; grandchildren, Josh (Isabel) Wakeley and Jeff (Rebeckah) Wakeley; four great-grandchildren and his brother-in-law, Jim Neff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Winifred (Kanable) Wakeley; brother, Jack (Sue) Wakeley; and his sister, Elaine Neff.

Family and friends are warmly invited to come together on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario, OH, for a Celebration of Life.
