Bradley Edward Weaver, 62, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, September 18, 2026, at The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University, following a courageous battle with lymphoma. Though his battle with lymphoma brought difficult days, Brad faced them with the determination and quiet strength he had shown throughout his life.
Brad was a man who believed in doing things the right way. He was organized, particular, thoughtful with his words, and cautious about the details. Those who knew him well would probably say he had a dry and sarcastic sense of humor that could sneak up on you in the best way. Beneath that careful exterior was a man who loved deeply, especially when it came to his family and friends; he was considered a great man, an amazing friend, and a father always proud of his children.
Born August 19, 1964, in Akron, Brad was the son of Thomas Edward Weaver and Iada M. (Rinehart) Weaver. He graduated from Lexington High School and later attended The Ohio State University for a time, though his greater calling was always serving his country.
Brad proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1983 to 1991, including service during Operation Desert Storm. His commitment to his country continued through the Air Force Reserves, where he served with the 179th Airlift Wing in Mansfield. He remained there until 2002, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. His military service was an important part of who he was, and he carried the discipline, precision, and dedication he learned in the Air Force—along with the strong connections he made during his service—throughout his life.
For 24 years, Brad worked at Gorman-Rupp as a supply chain scheduler. His attention to detail and methodical approach served him well in his career. He was a member of the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) and earned both the Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) designations. After many years of dedicated work, Brad retired on March 31, 2025. During retirement he rarely sat idle, working at his friend’s establishment, The Iron Vault Distillery in Galion.
Family was at the center of how Brad spent his free time. He spent countless hours supporting his kids and grandkids at sporting and school events — even traveling across the country to watch his daughter’s dance competitions. An annual trip to Cedar Point was a cherished family tradition, often centered around the Gorman-Rupp Family Day. He also enjoyed the occasional round of golf with his brothers and social time with a cold beverage.
Traveling was something he enjoyed immensely, especially when sharing those trips with friends, including Sam Thacker. Brad was happiest near the water, and the beach was always his favorite destination, with Key West and the Azores Islands in Portugal holding special places in his heart. He also enjoyed the family-friendly trips to Myrtle Beach because as long as there was water nearby and good company, Brad was happy.
A devoted sports fan, Brad followed Ohio State football, Cleveland Cavaliers basketball, the Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed taking his son, daughter, and their families to games for any of the teams they followed, and he occasionally enjoyed shooting hoops himself, proving his love for the game went beyond the stands.
His legacy will be found not only in his years of service and his accomplishments, but in the memories made around golf courses, beaches, family gatherings, sporting events, his pets, and all the ordinary moments that become precious with time.
Brad will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
In addition to his mother Iada Weaver, Bradley is survived by his son Brandon and Casey Weaver and his mother, LaDonna Meyer, daughter Bailey and Eliu Delgadillo and her mother, Dawn Weaver, stepchildren Chad and Ashley Hutcheson and Shane Hutcheson; grandchildren Conor, Arie, and Phoenix Weaver; step-grandchildren Hunter, Carmen, Haylie, Tuff and Haddie Hutcheson, Addilyn Yates, and Aiden Proctor; siblings Stanley and Missy Weaver, Wesley and Tammy Weaver, and Jesalyn Weaver, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2023.
Friends may call Friday, September 25, 2026, from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will follow at 7 pm. Pastor Dale Patrick will officiate. Burial in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will be held Monday.
