Joyce A. Stansberry, 80, of Mansfield, went to meet her Savior on Monday, September 21, 2026. Joyce was born on April 10, 1946, in Garrison, West Virginia, to Vivian and Anna (Rice) Massey. She moved to Mansfield in 1955 and graduated from Madison High School in 1964. On October 27, 1990, she married the love of her life, Gary Stansberry.
Joyce began her career with United Telephone (Sprint) in 1964 as an operator. Through dedication and hard work, she advanced to other positions before retiring in 2000. After retirement, she worked for five years as a cafeteria aide for Mansfield City Schools.
Joyce loved spending quality time with her family and friends and creating lasting memories. She looked forward to breakfast meetings with friends and monthly lunch dates with her retired girlfriends from Sprint. Joyce was a faithful member of Mansfield Baptist Temple and enjoyed being an adopted grandparent to the K-4 students at Temple Christian School. In her hours spent at home she enjoyed following the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Guardians and Ohio State Buckeyes, shopping, and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Stansberry; her son, Keith (Dawn) Ward; her daughter (granddaughter), Karlee Ward (Levi Nally); her grandchildren, Karen (Kurt) Noland, Breanna Crawford, Joni Ward, Kasey (Jeremy) Himes, and Kayla Ward; her great-grandchildren, Kamden Himes and Ryleigh Swartz; and her sister, Janet (Art) Amsbaugh. She is also survived by a very special friend Landon Simpson.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin Ward, her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry (Donna) Massey; and her sister and brother-in-law, Julia (Ken) Bauer.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 N. Stewart Road, Mansfield, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert J. Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
