NEW PHILADELPHIA — Kolston Fox and Caleb Crowthers ran for two touchdowns apiece and New Philadelphia controlled Mansfield Senior for a 35-0 high school football victory on Friday night.
Fox finished with 103 yards rushing to push New Philadelphia to a 2-3 overall record, 2-0 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference. Parker Rieger was 6-of-13 passing for 113 yards to boost the Quakers, who will be at Wooster next week.
The Quakers scored in every quarter, jumping to a 7-0 first-quarter advantage and forging a 21-0 halftime margin. The spread grew to 28-0 in the third period, and the running clock started with a fourth-quarter touchdown.
This was the first time the Tygers have been shutout this season. Freshman quarterback David Phillips completed 7-of-14 passes for 103 yards with an interception. Emaj Parks caught three passes for 58 yards.
Senior High falls to 0-5 overall, 0-2 in the OCC. Mansfield Senior will host Lexington next week.
