Barb Fairchild, age 77, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on September 6, 2026 at home. She was born on September 29, 1948 in Pikeville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Elias and Victoria (Compton) Hopkins.
Barb had lived in Pikeville, Kentucky as a child and moved to Mansfield, Ohio. She was the owner and operator of The Book Swap for several years and also worked at Kimmel corporation. She loved volunteering at the Renaissance Theatre.
She liked to crochet, go to country music concerts, flea markets, and gardening. Her proudest achievement was her volunteer work that she did at the Renaissance theater for over 30 years.
She has survived by son, Roger (Susan) Fairchild; grandson, Nathan (Erin) Fairchild; step grandchildren, James Gibson and Amber Gibson; four great granddaughters and four great step grandchildren, as well as her best friend of many years Rae Reader; two aunts, Florence Atkins and Geraldine Thacker and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronnie L Hopkins, James W Hopkins, and Hibbard Hopkins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday September 21, 2026 at 3:00PM at Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society, 9 Chambers Road Mansfield, Ohio 44906. Memorial service will be conducted by Dan Porter and family and friends may call from 2:00PM-3:00PM.
