MANSFIELD — Weapons, cash and drugs were seized Thursday during a Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force raid in Mansfield, according to a press release from the METRICH Enforcement Unit.
Investigators seized a shotgun, a pistol, nearly $3,000 in U.S. currency, suspected fentanyl, and approximately 100 grams of suspected cocaine. The investigation remains ongoing, and charges will be filed at a later date.
Authorities stated the items were found after a search warrant was executed at 238 E. 2nd St. by the NOVFTF.
The press release stated that while at the residence, members of the NOVFTF observed a firearm in plain view and contacted the METRICH Enforcement Unit.
Based on information obtained during the investigation, the METRICH Enforcement Unit subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence.
“This enforcement action demonstrates the continued commitment of the METRICH Enforcement Unit and its law enforcement partners to disrupting drug trafficking and improving public safety throughout Richland County,” the press release noted.
“The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to target those responsible for bringing and distributing illegal drugs within our communities and encourages citizens to report suspected drug activity.
