Patricia Lynn Christy passed away Tuesday, August, 25, 2026 surrounded by her children in Marion General Hospital following a short illness.
She was born September 23, 1972 in Mansfield to Paul and Jayne (Russell) Moore and attended Lexington High School.
Patty was blessed with an outgoing spirit which perfectly suited her for a career as a waitress. She worked at Cracker Barrel, Oak Park and Rooster where she genuinely enjoyed her clients, especially her “regulars”. Bubbly and fun, Patty could start up a conversation with anyone.
Patty enjoyed hiking at Mohican and Mt. Gilead State Parks, and walking in cemeteries looking at the old monuments and pondering the history behind them. She traveled all over the county to different states following the BMX racing scene with her family, loved animals (though she never took a pet of her own because of her schedule), and sunflowers. Patty could be outspoken, but her family never questioned her devotion to them. In recent times, she became an advocate for mental health.
She is survived by children Corey (Stacie) Kunkle of Galion, Kyra Barber of Johnsville and Paul Kunkle of Johnsville; grandchildren Cayden, Alivia, Reighlynn, Johnathan, Braxton, Liam, & Weston; her mother Jayne Moore; aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Patty was preceded in death by her father Paul Moore, and former husband and father of her children John Kunkle in 2021.
A celebration of Life will be announced by the family later in September, closer to Patty’s birthday.
