Elias Ali Uzunoff’s life was tragically cut short at the tender age of 17, on August 11, 2026, leaving many grieving friends and family members. He was born on June 7, 2009, in Mansfield, Ohio.
Young Mr. Elias was energetic, motivated, and was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers football fan. He loved life and had many plans for his future and tried to encourage others to set goals and strive to reach them while enjoying all of the good things this life has to offer.
Always the jokester, he enjoyed trying to make everyone laugh, get along, and feel at ease. He enjoyed basketball and football, as well as taking lessons in martial arts and boxing with his brother, Caleb. He became very close with his boxing coach, Jovonte Myers, whom he considered a friend and mentor. He was loved by friends and family alike. Although shy at times, Elias came alive around friends and family and considered many of them as his own family which he loved very much!
Elias attended Mansfield City Schools the majority of the time but transferred to Madison High School where he worked hard to earn enough credits to graduate early so, he could graduate at the same time as his brother Caleb. Elias was 15yrs old when he graduated at Madison Comprehensive High School who allowed him to walk with the class of 2025, which was their 100th annual commencement year.
Elias is survived by his mother, Candice Uzunoff; brother, Caleb Cantrill; grandmother, Jacquelyn Long; aunts, Amber Caltrider, Kayla Uzunoff, and Lindsey Uzunoff; uncle, Jeremy Peoples; cousin, Mollie Lewis; great uncle, Jim Long; great aunt, Susan (Steve) Greathouse-Clark of Alabama; great uncle, George (Houjan) Long of Florida; close friends/family, Tyrone Cantrill, Tysha Cantrill, Tracy (Adam) Baker-Kidd, Allen Croner, Jonathan Byrd, Jabrell Windham; a pet pitbull named Blue; as well as numerous family, friends whom he viewed as part of his natural family, and countless friends.
Elias saw GOD as his one and only Father who he had a very strong relationship with.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Caltrider; great aunt, Sally (Mike) Deal; great aunt, Janet (Chuck) Robinette of Texas; and a great uncle, John Long.
The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:30 am on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will immediately follow at 10:30 am. He will be laid to rest in Ontario Community Cemetery.
