Charles Kenneth Deal, 81, of Lucas passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He was born in West Virginia on October 20, 1944, to the late Leonard and Kathleen Deal.
Charles attended Poca High School and moved to Ohio in 1962 where he built a life centered around family, faith, and hard work. He never knew a stranger and was well liked by everyone who knew him. Working for over 37 years at Crane Plumbing, he later retired from Corpad. Charles was a longtime member of Mansfield Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed playing softball with his family in his earlier years and enjoyed watching the game as well. He was a devoted Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan. He took great pride in tending to his large garden every year and enjoyed bowling, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his three sons, James (Angela) Deal, Allen (Amy) Deal, and Rodney (Tonia) Deal; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; his siblings, Leonard (Phyllis) Deal, Paul (Eileen) Deal and Kathy (Danny) Hughes; special friend, Linda Ridenour and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann (Mason) Deal and three siblings, Ray Deal, Danny Deal and Rebecca Deal.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 10:30am at Mt. Zion Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jason Hurt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charles honor may be made to Mansfield Freewill Baptist Church or the Lucas Community Center.
