Charles “Steve” Reynolds, age 79 of Mansfield, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Arbors at Mifflin. He was born on July 27, 1946, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Herchel Reynolds and Erma V. (Dodds) Reynolds-Stone, and on June 13, 1970, he married the love of his life, Mary Margaret (Vanihel). They spent 55 wonderful years together.
Steve proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and he went on to obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration. He worked in business management for School Specialty for many years, and then he drove bus for Madison Local School District for another 11 years.
Steve is remembered as a man of service. He was a longtime member of Trinity Grace Fellowship, where he also acted as the finance chairman for several years. He served as a scout leader for the Boy Scouts for more than 3 decades, and he reached the status of Silver Eagle with the Boy Scouts. He also spent several years as a ski instructor, served as president of the Mansfield Mid-Ohio Bike Club, and helped with many community projects through his involvement in the Optimist Club. He loved his community, but above all, he loved his family. He was an incredible man, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Mary Reynolds; his sons Chad (Heather) Reynolds, Chris (Melanie) Reynolds, and Curtis Reynolds; his grandchildren Alexis (Skylar) Osborne, Natalie Reynolds, Megan Reynolds, and Emma Reynolds; his great-granddaughter Charlotte Osborne; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herchel Reynolds and Erma Reynolds-Stone, as well as his half-brothers Rex and Jimmy Reynolds.
Family and friends may gather to honor Steve’s memory on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Trinity Grace Fellowship, 1592 Grace St., Mansfield, with services to follow at 12:30 pm.
