Jerry Wayne Volk, 84 of Marblehead, passed away after a brief and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at The Landings of Westerville.

Jerry was born on December 30, 1941, in Bucyrus to the late Robert “Bob” and Alice (Stinehelfer) Volk. He married Nancy Kuhn on October 5, 1968, and she proceeded him in death on March 19, 1993. Jerry later married Ruth Loliger McKibben on September 17, 1995.

Jerry founded, owned, and operated Volk Well Drilling, where he built a reputation for honesty, hard work, and dependability. He was a longtime member of the First United Church of Christ in Galion and also attended the First United Church of Christ Congregational in Marblehead. Together, Jerry and his beloved wife, Ruth, enjoyed spending seven months each year in Florida, creating many cherished memories together.
Jerry was known for his remarkable hobbies and wide-ranging interests. In 1985, while working with Huber Hill Potato Farm, he proudly grew the largest potato in Ohio. He had an incredible wealth of knowledge about boats and engines, and countless people sought Jerry’s help when they had problems no one else could solve. He loved boating and fishing and spent many hours refinishing boats through his skilled woodworking and restoration work.

A passionate collector, Jerry amassed an impressive collection of boats and ice cream machines, including what was known as the largest mobile collection of ice cream machines. During retirement, he enjoyed attending antique engine shows, where he was often found making homemade ice cream for others to enjoy. Jerry also loved reading, drag racing, and tractor pulling. For more than five years, he proudly pulled his own tractor in competitions. He was especially proud to own a rare Dodge Ram Charger.

Above all, Jerry will be remembered as a caretaker and provider. He was always giving, always helping, and always willing to lend his time, talents, and knowledge to others. His generosity, ingenuity, and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his wife; Ruth McKibben Volk, his son, Brian (Brenda) Volk; stepchildren; Beth (Pat) McKibben-Nee, Bruce (Rachel) McKibben, Bradley (Krista) McKibben, Benjamin (Amy) McKibben and Becky (Adrian) Sunday, 1 grandchild and 8 step-grandchildren; his brother, Stanley Volk and sister, Marlene (Doyle) Stevens.
