David E. Lenahan, 90 of Ashland passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.
He was born on July 20, 1935 in Buffalo, New York the son of the late Francis E. “Sim” and Olive Rose (nee Markey) Lenahan.
Dave graduated from high school in 1954. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from John Fitzgerald Kennedy University in 1970.
He married the love of his life, the former Mary Ann Nero on August 18th 1956.
Dave retired after more than 30 years from the Ford Motor Company in 1986, where he was head of Quality Control in both the Lorain and Avon plant.
He was a devout member of the Saint Edward Roman Catholic Church where he volunteered and participated in numerous clubs, such as the Knights of Columbus and President of St. Vincent De Paul Society.
Dave enjoyed golfing with his grandsons at Brookside where he was a member.
He is survived by his fiancée, Sally Ahlers of Ashland; his son Dave (Patricia) Lenahan; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Lenahan; grandchildren; Russell, Paul and David Lenahan; and one brother, Francis (Diana) Lenahan.
Along with his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Mrs. Mary Ann Lenahan who passed from this life on February 2, 2025; a son, Russell “Rusty” E. Lenahan, who passed from this life on August 10th 2013; and his siblings, Thomas, Isabelle “Sis”, Daniel “Bunkie”, Madonna, Paul, and Dick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Edward Roman Catholic Church with Father James Winings presiding. A time of gathering will be in the church one hour prior to the mass. Interment will follow at a later date.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Saint Edward Roman Catholic Church, 501 Cottage St, Ashland, OH 44805 or the Saint Vincent De Paul Society in Dave’s memory.
