MANSFIELD — The NAACP 3190 Branch is proud to announce that Sherrod Brown, Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate and Mansfield native, will serve as the keynote speaker for its upcoming Life Membership Banquet.

The event will take place on Saturday, May 16 at the Mary McLeod Bethune Community Center, located at 140 Park Avenue East in Mansfield. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the program beginning promptly at 6 p.m.

Brown is known for advocating a more populist approach within the Democratic Party, with a focus on issues affecting working-class Americans. His address is expected to highlight the importance of civic engagement and equity in today’s political landscape.

The annual Life Membership Banquet celebrates dedicated NAACP members and supports ongoing civil rights initiatives. This year, the program will include the presentation of two distinguished honors: the Dennis A. Baker Second Chance Award and the Betty A. Palmer Harris Life Membership Award.
