ASHLAND – A Perrysville woman has been charged in connection with the Friday shooting of her son-in-law.
Elizabeth Sivey, 53, was charged Monday with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, punishable by up to eight years in prison.
Sivey allegedly shot Jeremy Johnson, 36, in the face shortly before 7:30 a.m. Friday outside their home at 113 Cherry Alley in Perrysville. According to authorities, Sivey shot Johnson through a door at the home when Johnson attempted to get in the residence.
Johnson was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital by emergency squad and was then taken by medical helicopter to a Columbus hospital.
During her appearance in Ashland County Common Pleas Court on Monday, Judge Ron Forsthoefel set a $50,000 cash bond for Sivey. Her arraignment is set for 3 p.m. Wednesday.
If Sivey posts bond, she is prohibited from using drugs or alcohol. Forsthoefel ordered Sivey be assessed for possible drug abuse and be subject to random drug and alcohol tests if she posts bond.
