MANSFIELD — Families across Richland County are invited to attend Healthy Kids Day, a FREE family event hosted by the YMCA of North Central Ohio, on Saturday, April 18, from noon to 2 p.m. at the OSU Mansfield Campus Recreation Center.

Healthy Kids Day is made possible through the generous support of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Park National Bank, helping bring local families together for an afternoon focused on fun, activity, and healthy living.

This year’s event will feature 26 indoor activities hosted by YMCA programs and 17 community partners, giving kids the opportunity to explore new activities, play games, and connect with organizations throughout the community.

Children can enjoy:

 Two indoor bounce houses, including an obstacle course.
 Face painting by Painted Rainbow Face Painting and Body Art.
 Balloon twisting by Taylor’s Balloon Twisting.
 Activities and games from 17 community partners.
 Interactive YMCA program stations featuring gymnastics, dance, science club, Y on the Fly activities, aquatics, and childcare programs.

Outside the recreation center, families can explore a Touch-a-Truck experience featuring vehicles from the Mansfield Police Department SWAT team and Springfield Township Fire Department. Kona Ice will also be on site, offering shaved ice and smoothies.

The first 300 children will receive a free Healthy Kids Day drawstring bag filled with YMCA giveaways, and families can enjoy free healthy snacks while supplies last.

Parking is available in the main OSU Mansfield parking lots, and families can walk up to the Recreation Center and follow Healthy Kids Day signage to the entrance. Most activities will take place indoors, making the event a great option, rain or shine.

Healthy Kids Day is part of a national YMCA initiative that encourages kids to stay active, build healthy habits, and connect with their communities.
