David Williams, age 52, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

He was born on January 16, 1974, in Shelby, Ohio, to Milford and Carol (Hanlon) Williams. David was a 1992 graduate of Willard High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army for 23 years, ultimately achieving the rank of Sergeant Major.

David had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid fan of “Sasquatch (BigFoot)” shows and collected related items, including his well-known Big Foot wearable feet. Above all, David treasured time spent with his family. He shared a special and unique bond with each of his nieces and nephews, who meant the world to him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Carol Williams of Willard, Ohio; his siblings, Greg (Sherrie) Williams of Shelby, Ohio, Barb (Ray) Kilgore of Shelby, Ohio, Marsha Williams of Willard, Ohio, and Derick (Jen) Williams of Eagle Mountain, Utah; his nieces and nephews, Jenifer Risseler, Jeromy Kilgore, Desirae Keaton, Skylar Keaton, Peyton Williams, Maddie Jenkins, and Ava Williams; as well as his great-nephew, Theo Cusano, and many other relatives.

David was preceded in death by his father, Milford “Mick” Williams.

Friends and family may come to Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and again from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with military honors, followed by interment at Oakland Cemetery.
