Betty Jane Cameron (92), Maineville, Ohio, passed away on March 20, 2026 with loving family members by her side. Born in Kunkle, Ohio on January 1, 1934, she was the daughter of Harry J. and Virginia E. (Carriger) Connolly.
On June 13, 1978, she married John F. (Jack) Cameron (deceased). With her first husband, John Weber, she served as co-owner/manager of Weber’s Market and Fruit Barn in Mark Center, Ohio, for nine years, from the mid-‘60s to early ‘70s. In 1994, she retired from Neff Brothers Grocery, in Galion, Ohio, as Produce Manager after twenty-four years. She was a member of TOPS Chapter #OH 1367 of Galion for forty-six years until 2014 and served as Chapter Treasurer for many of those years. She then became a member of TOPS Chapter #OH 1343 in West Chester, Ohio. In 2018, she reached the fifty-year TOPS membership milestone. She also attended Grace Chapel in Mason, Ohio and the Gathering Church in Maineville.
Betty was an excellent and prolific cook, baker, seamstress, knitter, crocheter, and gardener who shared gifts of food, clothing, and useful, pretty items for people’s homes, including many afghans and doilies. She also loved to walk, read, travel, play games, and visit with family, neighbors, and friends. She wrote journals for many years to record the events of her life, and, as her mother did, she wrote letters weekly to her children for many years. She also took many pictures and wrote the names of people and places and the dates on the back of almost every one.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Weber Haag and her partner Robert K. Pring of Phippsburg, Maine; Phyllis Weber Atkinson and her husband Jeff Atkinson of Maineville, Ohio; and one son, Timothy J. Weber of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her sister Sandra Connolly Myers of Bryan, Ohio. She leaves behind two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: her grandson, Christopher Atkinson, his wife Lindsay, and their sons Asher and Jesse of South Lebanon, Ohio; and her granddaughter Elizabeth Ahlquist, her husband Joel, and their daughters Coralaine, Adelaide, and Matilda of Hamilton, Ohio. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Christine Connolly of Rochester, New York, and by many nieces and nephews.
Betty is predeceased by her first husband John Weber, her second husband Jack Cameron, her brothers Jim Connolly (and his wife Joan), Bill Connolly, and David Connolly, and by her sister Bonnie Connolly Brown.
