Suzanne K. Loggins, born on February 18, 1936, in Bucyrus, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the age of 89. She lived a life filled with love, grace, and joy, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. She graduated from Galion High School, studied at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, and attended the Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Cleveland. She worked in her family’s business, Cook’s Electric, and later earned her wings as a flight attendant with American Airlines. She was a devoted mother whose unwavering love and guidance shaped the lives of her family. Known for her elegance and warmth, she had a remarkable gift for entertaining at the highest level, creating gatherings that were as beautiful as they were memorable. Her home was always a place of laughter, good food, and heartfelt conversation.
She found joy in swimming and the challenge of backgammon, but her true gift was music. She loved to play the piano and sing both at home and in church. She was a proud member of both the Galion Country Club and the Galion Garden Club. A passionate golfer, she spent countless joyful hours on the course. When she wasn’t golfing, she was nurturing her love for gardening, using her talent to create beauty in every space she touched.
Her passion for life extended to her role as “Nana,” a title she wore with pride and joy. She adored her seven grandchildren, embracing them with love to create memories that will live on in their hearts. She was blessed to share her life with two extraordinary men. For 31 years, she was married to Donald E. Kelley, and later, for 23 years, to Dr. James E. Loggins. The love and companionship they shared brought her immeasurable happiness. She divided her time between the comfort of her beloved hometown of Galion and Lauderdale-bythe-Sea. In Galion, she cherished the warmth of a close-knit community and the devoted friendships that enriched her life. Florida offered her a joyful escape, where the ocean breeze and radiant sun brought her peace and happiness. Both places reflected her spirit—rooted in love, yet always reaching for beauty and light. Her devotion to God was a cornerstone of her life. She was a former member of Peace Lutheran Church in Galion, Ohio, and a current member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Pompano Beach, Florida. Her faith guided her through life’s joys and challenges, and she lived each day with gratitude and grace. Her life was a testament to family, friendship, and the simple joys that make life beautiful. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Virginia Cook; her first husband, Donald E. Kelley; her second husband, Dr. James E. Loggins; and her son, Bart Kelley. She is survived by her children: Chris (Abby) Kelley, Lisa (Perry) Greer, David (Laureen) Kelley, and Scott (Isabelle) Kelley; seven beloved grandchildren—Ryker Kelley, Molly, Sophie, and Lily Greer, Logan and Trevor Kelley, and Dylan Kelley; as well as her brother, Richard Cook, and nephew, Richie Cook.
