It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Debie Lou Johnson, who departed this life on May 4, 2026, at the age of 70, in Galion, Ohio. Debie was born on June 28, 1955, in Alliance, Ohio, to the late Donald and Elizabeth (Varner) Harbaugh. She married Glenn Johnson on August 4, 2019, and he preceded her in death on July 2, 2021.
A proud graduate of Marlington High School in 1973, Debie furthered her education by earning a master’s degree in science from Bowling Green State University in 1978. She dedicated her career to teaching in Crestline and later making a significant impact at a rehabilitation hospital in Mansfield. Most recently, Debie served with great commitment at the Bureau of Workers Compensation before retiring.

Debie was not only a remarkable educator; she was also a devoted member of Faith Community Church in Crestline for over 35 years. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she devoted countless hours to reading her Bible and finding joy in her spiritual community.

In her leisure time, Debie embraced her creativity through sewing, crocheting, and knitting. Her green thumb allowed her to cultivate beautiful flower gardens, which brought joy to all who visited her home. But above all, Debie cherished the moments spent with her family. She reveled in the company of loved ones and never missed an opportunity to bring happiness into their lives.

Debie is survived by her daughter, Missy (Jimmy) Keck, her grandchildren, Zoe (Cory), Chelsea (Zach), Jackie (Drew), great-grandchildren, Natalee, Mitchell, Benji, her step children, Adam Johnson, Evan (Sarah) Johnson, Alex (Amy) Johnson, her step grandchildren, Maggie, Jack, Isaac, Emma, Autumn, Micah, her twin sister, Deedee (Ken) Steele, and her nephew Chris (Bree) Steele

In addition to her high school sweetheart and one true love, Glenn Johnson, Debie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nita (Leroy) Varner, and Irma Harbaugh, and her siblings, Norm Harbaugh, Richard Harbaugh, Susan James.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life in Debie’s honor on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Faith Community Church, 327 East Main St., Crestline at 12:30 PM. Debie will be laid to rest next to her husband, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Faith Community Church, 327 East Main St., Crestline, Ohio 44827, in her memory.
