Dr. Stjepan Gardilcic has announced his retirement after a 34-year medical career.

MANSFIELD — Dr. Stjepan Gardilcic has announced his retirement after a distinguished career spanning more than 40 years in the field of urology.

A cornerstone of urologic care in the Mansfield region, Gardilcic opened his private practice in 1991 and has since served patients across the OhioHealth System, Avita Health System, and University Hospitals in Ashland.

Born in Croatia, Gardilcic immigrated to the United States to pursue his medical career, bringing with him a deep commitment to excellence in patient care.

Over the course of four decades in urology, he earned the trust and respect of thousands of patients and colleagues. During his time in the U.S., he proudly pursued and achieved American citizenship—an accomplishment that held great personal meaning for him.

Throughout his career, Gardilcic became known not only for his clinical expertise, but also for his compassion, steady presence, and dedication to advancing healthcare in the region. His service has had a lasting impact on the well-being of individuals and families throughout north central Ohio.

To honor Gardilcic’s remarkable career, an open house celebration will be held for his patients, friends, and community members on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at his office, located at 675 Bally Row in Mansfield. All well-wishers are warmly welcome to join in the celebration.

Gardilcic looks forward to spending more time with his family in retirement. He and his wife are the proud parents of two daughters and are grandparents to two granddaughters. He is also looking forward to traveling and spending more time in his homeland of Croatia.
