Greg Dyer, age 54, of Galion passed away Sunday November 30, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born January 13, 1971 in Galion, he was the son of Geral and Judy (Diehl) Dyer. He married Lisa Longwell on May 21, 1994 and she survives.

Greg was a 1989 graduate of Galion High school and attended Toledo University. He retired from General Motors as a tool and die maker. Greg was a great lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He loved to watch sports particularly when his sisters or children were playing. He was an avid Ohio State, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians and even Cleveland Browns fan. He always had the answers to questions and was like Google. He was super handy and could fix anything as long as he was able to work at his own slow pace for which he was known. He was very laid back and had a great sense of humor. He was also musically talented and served as a one man band, playing the harmonica, spoons and ukulele as well as singing and showing his skillful dance moves. He enjoyed spending time in a hot tub wherever he happened to be and was a sports card collector. Greg was a member of the Galion Elks, Owls, and Army Navy Club and was also a member of the Richland County Fish and Game Conservation Association.

In addition to his wife Lisa and parents, he is survived by his children: Mitchell (Shelby) Dyer and Ashley Dyer, sisters Lori (Joan) Dyer and Kelli Dyer, mother-in-law Janet Longwell, brothers-in-law Ron (Kim Longwell and Todd (Laura) Longwell, several nieces and nephews and his German Shorthaired Pointer, Rip.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Ben Longwell.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday December 4, 2025 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday December 5, 2025 with Pastor Jeff Pennington officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
