Anthony “Tony” Jay Dotson, 65, passed away, surrounded by his friends, after a brief illness, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at his residence in Crestline.

Tony was born in Crestline on May 23, 1960, to the late Paul and Donna (Ricker) Dotson. He is survived by his sister, Lucille Dicks, and his brother, Steve Dotson.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his daughter, Kaneasha Dotson, his two sisters, Donna Kollar, Paula Dotson, and his brother, Bill Dotson.

Tony was well known for being able to do any job and loved a challenge. He did everything with a smile and a grateful attitude. He began his professional career at O & K Used Cars, in the body shop, and refurbishing cars remained a lifelong passion. He also owned and operated a digital surveillance company and was an independent contractor for home improvements.

One of his greatest joys was working in the local film industry, building sets and working on location and transportation crews. He was also instrumental in helping to create the Ohio State Reformatory’s Blood Prison event, building the sets and creating the effects, and he spent many happy seasons working the haunt.

Tony’s favorite activity was spending time with his friends, his chosen family, with whom he enjoyed riding his Harley and shooting pool. He played in several leagues. And of course, he never missed a meal! Sharing dinners with his friends was the high point of every day. He will be remembered and cherished as the most loyal of friends.

A celebration of life will be held at The Hub in Crestline on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
