Noah Kelii Kamaunu passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 5, 2025. He was 49.

He was born on July 30, 1975 in Kailua, Hawaii to the late William and Wendy (Eckardt) Kamaunu.

Noah’s greatest joy in life was dance—especially Hip Hop, which he embraced with passion and energy from a young age. He danced semi-professionally with the Posse on Mission dance group through the Word of Life Church in Hawaii, a calling that took him across the world to places like Australia, New Zealand, and throughout the United States. He had an unwavering admiration for Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson, whose music and moves inspired him deeply. A true connoisseur of music and film, Noah could tell you everything about a song, artist, or music video—his knowledge was encyclopedic and delivered with his signature enthusiasm. He also loved diving into the occasional conspiracy theory, always with curiosity and a mischievous glint in his eye. Noah was ornery, stubborn, and fiercely passionate, but underneath it all was a heart as big as they come—equal parts tough and tender, just like a sour patch kid.

He is survived by his partner of 22 years Jeff Adkins, children Maria Finley, Clayton Adkins, and Jacob Adkins, sister Lena Kamaunu, brother BoBo (Amy) Kamaunu, sisters-in-law Brenda Knuckles and Angela Brady, brother-in-law Dennis Adkins, nieces Makana Kamaunu, Karen Russell, Amy Knuckles, and Lisa Briggs, as well as many other beloved extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Noah is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jerry Adkins.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
