MANSFIELD — The Visual Bucket List Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to creating unforgettable visual experiences for children losing their sight, has announced the hiring of Jess Berry as its new director of operations and special events.
Berry brings with her a strong background in communications, education, and nonprofit engagement along with a lifelong passion for serving children and families.
Born and raised in Mansfield, she graduated from Lexington High School in 2006 before earning her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism in 2010.
“We were looking for someone to join our team who not only has a passion for our mission, but also the knowledge and experience to organize and execute meaningful events,” said Christine Myers, co-founder of VBLF.
“Jess has been volunteering with us for years and has an extensive understanding of how our fundraisers operate. Her heart for our families and ability to bring structure to our growth makes her the perfect addition. Jess is our second official hire, and we’re so excited to take this step as we continue to grow in our mission,” Myers said.
The Visual Bucket List Foundation was founded in 2016 to fulfill the dreams of children diagnosed with degenerative vision conditions by helping them see an item on their “visual bucket list” before they lose their sight.
From going on a real Dinosaur Dig to experiencing Broadway or seeing the ocean for the first time, each experience is tailored to the child’s unique interests and designed to create lasting visual memories.
Berry will oversee the planning and execution of the foundation’s growing calendar of fundraisers and community events—ensuring each one supports the organization’s core mission while deepening its impact.
“I am so honored to join The Visual Bucket List Foundation,” said Berry. “Their mission has become very near and dear to my heart during my years volunteering for them. I am so excited to be able to work with them and the families they serve, and to help continue to grow the foundation.”
