“We were so impressed by the creativity and thoughtfulness these students put into their artwork,” said Leah Cordy, Community Relations Director for Wombat Solar.

“It’s inspiring to see how Crawford County youth are already thinking about the future and the role clean energy can play in it. We’re proud to celebrate their talent this Earth Day.”

All submitted artwork was displayed at the Crawford County Art Center from 1 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, Earth Day. Parents and community members were invited to view their children’s art, along with the other art on display at the center.

The Crawford Art Center offered a free Earth Day craft. Drop-in visitors upcycled magazines to make beads.

The art will continue to be displayed this week during the art center’s open hours. Hours are Sunday, 2 to 6 p.m., Monday, 6 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, 1 to 6 p.m.

“We are grateful to be able to partner with a wide variety of organizations in our area and create opportunities for young artists to share their work,” said Kaylee Powers, Executive Director of the Art Center.

“This contest was a great way to encourage students to be creative and think about how their art can reflect the world around us.”

All art at the Crawford County Art Center has been submitted for display and sale by local member artists. The current gallery exhibition theme is “Chaos” and is available for viewing and purchase during all open hours.
