MARENGO — Love the smell of gunpowder in the morning? Love exercising your 2nd Amendment rights? Love hanging out with your friends and honoring those that sacrificed for your freedoms?
Then the non-profit organization Love Our Hero’s Inc. has an event for you.
The Bellville-based organization that supports local military veterans is staging its first “Love Our Hero’s Sporting Clay Classic” on Sept. 5. Organizers hope it becomes an annual event.
The fundraiser will be at the Cardinal Shooting Center, 3389 County Road 225, in Marengo down in Morrow County.
All proceeds from the event will benefit local military veterans through Love Our Hero’s Inc.

The cost is $1,000 for a four-member team, which includes a continental breakfast, 100 targets, 12-gauge or 20-gauge ammo, golf cart, lunch and gifts.
It will begin at 8 a.m. with a check-in and continental breakfast, followed by a safety briefing at 9 a.m. A “shotgun” start will begin the competition at 9:15 a.m.
There will also be a “Pew Pew Raffle” and a “Liquor Pull” for participants.

Sponsorships for the event are also being sought, ranging in price from $10,000 for an event sponsor all the day down to $200 for a station sponsor. Potential sponsors should also email MVPQueenEvents@gmail.com.
