Helen Francis Bond, age 92, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, at Galion Avita Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 13, 1932, in Fullerton, Kentucky to Ollie and Ottie (Underwood) Perry, she had been a Shelby resident since 1955. A 1950 graduate of Olive Hill High School, Helen went on to marry Kenneth Bond, on December 31, 1950. As a full-time homemaker, Helen was dedicated to maintaining a beautiful home and creating a loving environment for her children and grandchildren. Later in life, Helen’s nurturing and caring nature was perfectly suited for becoming a grandmother, which she absolutely cherished. She loved spending time with her family, making lasting memories together. Helen was fond of all animals and had many beloved pets through the years. She also enjoyed attending auctions and collecting various items.
She is survived by her children Vickie Wollerton of Attica, Sandy (Bob) Ramsey of Shelby, K. Doug (Cindy) Bond of Crestline; 10 grandchildren Robin (Paul) Willman, Becky Jenney, Sarah (Mads) Vanggaard, Tracy Bond, Natalie (Michael Kahn) Bond, Angela (Jonas) Bond, John Bond, Scott Ramsey, Hali (Kevin) Baker, Stephanie (Brandon) Criddell; 11 great grandchildren Molly Ramsey, Austin Hawksworth, Camron Criddell, Lexy (Jacob) Goshe, Mason and Shane Willman, Ella and Lucca Vanggaard, Theodore and Camille Khan-Bond, River Bond; two sisters-in-law Sonja Perry and Lucy Perry; a special caregiver and friend Diana Slone; numerous other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years; two children, Dickie Allen Bond and Terry Bond, two brothers David and Pat Perry, and a son-in-law George Wollerton.
Friends may visit the family at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with interment held at Oakland Cemetery.
