MANSFIELD — The public is encouraged to join Many Shades of Pink, We ACT, the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center, Richland County Children Services (RCCS) and Titus 6 in celebrating breast cancer survivors and promoting early detection as part of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Many Shades of Pink (MSOP) Breast Cancer Awareness organization, was established in 2014, by breast cancer survivor, Wahnita Johnson, and represents all races and stages of breast cancer.
Survivorship is a unique and ongoing journey that is different for every woman. The mission is to empower, inspire, and help women and those affected by breast cancer through education early detection and support programs.
The Many Shades of Pink Luncheon “Pink Ribbon Warriors”will take place on, Saturday, Oct. 12, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Area Agency on Aging, 2131 Park Ave. West, Ontario, Ohio. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the celebration will begin at noon.
There will be a complimentary soup and salad luncheon, featuring the melodic harmonies of The McCruter Family. This event is free and open to the public.
The keynote speaker will be Stacy Mathews, MSN CNP, with the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center.
Also, testimonial speakers Wahnita Johnson, Founder of Many Shades of Pink, Brenda Lawrence and Elder Barry Lawrence, and Pastor Aaron Williams, Maddox Memorial Church of God in Christ.
The moderator will be Keisha Allen, Deputy Warden, Richland Correctional Institution, RiCI.
Many Shades of Pink will also honor heroes in the fight against breast cancer for their contributions to breast cancer awareness and their dedication to uplifting others in our community. This year’s honorees include:
