BUCYRUS — Pleasant may have won the regular season championship, but Galion will carry plenty of momentum into the postseason.

The Tigers shot a 327 to win the fourth and final Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference tournament on a steamy Wednesday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus.

Pleasant, which won the first three MOAC tourneys and was 7-0 in match play, carded a 333 to secure the title.

“This was a confidence booster for us,” Galion coach Bryce Lehman said. “We didn’t want Pleasant to win it without a fight.”

Galion’s Nate McMullen fired a 78 Wednesday to claim medalist honors. Parker Tinch shot an 80, while Jack Rinehart had an 84. Carson Walker (85), Christian Hart (89) and Cullen Hartr (92) rounded out the scoring for the Tigers.

“Nate has been playing well for us,” Lehman said. “He has been pretty consistent all season.”

Clear Fork finished third Wednesday with a 338. Clinton Stallard paced the Colts with an 83.

Ontario was fifth with a 351. Cam Bulakovski led the way for the Warriors with an 81.

Shelby was seventh with a 373. Thomas Lenahan led the Whippets with an 87.

Galion, Clear Fork, Ontario and Shelby will all be in action at the Division II sectional tournament at Woussickett Golf Course in Sandusky on Sept. 26.

“We feel like we have some momentum going into the sectional,” Lehman said. “We’ll see what happens next week.”

In girls action, Pleasant won Wednesday’s tournament to take the season title. The Spartans shot a 380 and finished with 32 points. Ontario was second Wednesday with a 399 and finished with 31 season points.

Brinlee Kreger led Ontario with a 93. Brooklynn Black shot a 99, while Alexia Sesco carded a 101. Leeah Ziegler (106), Ashley Hall (110) and Delaney Mortiz (113) rounded out the scoring for the Warriors.
