MANSFIELD: Harmony is the act of single notes joining together in unison to create pleasant sounding tones. For nearly 50 years, Gayle Ray sang as a member of Mansfield’s premier barbershop/acapella chorus, The Fun Center Chordsmen. Their motto was Harmony In Motion. Much of Gayle Ray’s life’s service was harmonic. Serving in the Navy, acting in the church body and dedicating much of his time to his family and friends, Gayle was Harmony In Motion.

Gayle L. Ray, 77, of Mansfield passed away, Wednesday evening, August 7, 2024 at Riverside Hospital following complications from a heart attack.

The son of George and Louise (Hambrick) Ray, Gayle was born October 6, 1946 in Mansfield and graduated from Lexington High School. Soon after graduating, he served in the NAVY where he was honorably discharged on October 1, 1969. Gayle was proud to have served his country.
