MADISON TOWNSHIP — Mr. Hero is moving its Madison location about a tenth of a mile away from its former home on Ashland Road.

Greg Marchion, Mr. Hero chief operations officer, said the business knew it wanted to remain in Madison Township.

“We’ve been in Mansfield for over 30 years, so we wanted to continue to be there for our customers after our previous lease ran out,” he said.

Mr. Hero is building a new restaurant at 937 Ashland Road with plans to open this summer. The new location will also have a drive-thru.

“There are 19 Mr. Hero locations with drive-thrus, and those locations can serve more customers at once,” said marketing manager Tammy Owens. “We will still have delivery available through third-parties like DoorDash.”

Former land to become storage units

The complex that also housed Madison Chiropractic and Wellness has been demolished. First National Bank of Mansfield owns the land, according to Richland County Auditor records. The land is next to IncaAztec Self Storage.

Laura Baldwin, facility manager for IncaAztec Self Storage, said the team hopes to start construction for the new units this spring.

“We have 400 right now, and we’re not sure how many new ones we’ll be able to build quite yet,” Baldwin said. “Our customers will be able to rent them as soon as they’re finished.”

Mr. Hero was founded in Cleveland in 1965. Known for the Romanburger, Marchion said his personal favorite meals are the signature dish and the Chicken Philly.

“All of our sides are amazing as well,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to opening a fresh, new location in Mansfield. We love being there.”

Marchion said the new location will be about 1,500 square feet. Hours will remain 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The COO said the team might extend hours later depending on customer demand.
