MANSFIELD — The Kroger Company announced Wednesday it plans to remodel 18 stores in the Columbus region, including Mansfield’s Park Avenue West store.
Mark Bruce, a Kroger corporate affairs manager, said remodeling work is scheduled to start this summer. The company will invest approximately $1.2 million in the 1240 Park Ave. West location.
The Kroger Company remodeled the Ashland Road store for about $1.7 million last year and invested $3.4 million in the Lexington Avenue store in 2021.
“Once this next remodel is complete, Kroger will have invested ($6.3 million) in our Mansfield-area stores since 2021,” Bruce said.
Kroger’s Columbus division plans to open the new Jerome Village Kroger Marketplace in Union County this year and remodel 18 stores. It will invest approximately $68 million in central and northwest Ohio stores.
The Jerome Village Kroger marketplace will be the first net new store in the Kroger Columbus Division since 2009 and represents a $38 million investment in Central Ohio.
The Kroger Columbus Division employs nearly 18,000 associates across the Division’s stores in Ohio and West Virginia, securing access to good-paying union jobs and providing opportunities for career growth.

Associates can take advantage of up to $21,000 in reimbursement during their careers with Kroger for an educational pursuit of their choosing, from a GED to a Ph.D.
