SHELBY — Luke Medley was selected “Student of the Month” after the Music Academy of Karate and Empowerment conducted its January tests recently.
Medley was selected for demonstrating perseverance, integrity, indomitable spirit, courtesy and self control, according to Sensei Reneta Music.
The academy also announced the following promotions:
Gray Foster — green belt
Liam Foster — green belt
Theo Flanders –green belt
There are also four brown belts who will receive their Jr. black belt in July — Timothy Elias, Sol Phillips, Blake Schwartz and Gavin Hawkins.
Many students also received stripes on their belts for attendance and knowledge of kata.
